Your 3 Days Kibale Primate Experience Uganda Safari will include;
On arrival at the Entebbe Airport, meet your safari representative after passport control. Transfer to western Uganda to Crater safari lodge near Kibale national park. Kibale Forest National Park is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, our closest relative.
Kibale 1450 Chimpanzee represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also a home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. So you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others.
Arrive in time for a late lunch. In the evening, explore the Crater Lake region, which has many crater lakes and the local people in the area.
Dinner and Overnight – Crater Safari lodge
After breakfast and a 25 minute drive to the park offices for briefing, go for a hiking through the Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees and other primates. Kibale is inhabited by three large “communities” of chimps, each numbering more than 100 individuals. Each community has a complicated social structure.
Chimps are very social, highly vocal, communicating with a large variety of sounds and gestures. The excitement as the whole group suddenly bursts into a cacophony of wild hooting is most entertaining. You will have one hour in their presence.
Mid- afternoon, return to the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon go for Bigodi swamp walk where you may see a variety of bird species and other smaller mammals.
Dinner and overnight – Crater Safari lodge
After breakfast, transfer to the Entebbe Airport via Kampala – arriving in time for check in for your international flight home.
